Congratulations to our JCSP graduates 2008

Thank you to all the friends and families of our excellent 2008 JCSP graduates who had a celebration on September 30th, 2008.
Some of the boys had written beautiful speeches which they read. They are all a credit to themselves and their parents and we
look forward to their graduation when they get their Leaving Certificate. Not if, as Ian said, but when.

Well done to the U-14s!!!

Congratulations to our under 14 team who had a great victory over St. Joseph's, Fairview
in the Dublin Metropolitan U-14 Cup played at the Oscar Traynor grounds on Thursday, 4th September.

Two goals were scored by Dylan K. and Adam K. supplied the third.
Well done all!!

Larkin wins another award

Larkin College has won another award, this time money from Dublin Bus' community fund.
This fund is made up of uncollected change from bus fares.
We will be using ours to fund an inter-cultural resource in the school.

Three of our students were lucky enough to be at Croke Park for the presentation, which was attended by
our Olympic boxers.

Niall Quinn and Katie Taylor were also present.

Citi Awards 2008

Thank you again to Citi, great friends of Larkin College, for their continued generous commitment in sponsoring the Maths Leagues and the annual Maths awards.
The last week of term saw another great set of awards.

See more photos on our Larkin News page.

War hero visits Larkin

Larkin College was very honoured to have Second World War veteran, decorated war hero and ex-Senator Jack Harte as a visitor recently.

He is the author of 'To the limits of endurance - one Irishman's War', a copy of which Mr Harte graciously signed and donated to the Larkin Library.

He gave a very interesting and informative talk on World War Two and his role in it. It was a very useful and educational experience for our senior students.

Thanks to Mr. Jack Kennedy for organising the talk.

Conor Clifford

Congratulations to Larkin past pupil, Conor Clifford, (currently with Chelsea FC)
on his recent FAI U-16 best player award.

Performance in Hugh Lane Gallery

On 20th January 2008, in the Hugh Lane Gallery,
students from the Learning Through Arts Programme
from Larkin Community College performed a work that combined dance, theatre, music and visual arts.

Inspired by the Harry Clarke stained glass window in the Hugh Lane collection
and the poem by John Keats, the children worked together with professional artists and teachers at Larkin to create a vibrant and contemporary piece of musical theatre. A great success!

Click here to see some photos of the performance.

Well done to 102!

Congratulations and well done to the students of 102 and their teacher Ms. Sheridan.
The class raised over 1800 euro for Temple Street Children's Hospital by doing a sponsored stationary cycle.
