101 and 104 Activity week April 2005

All reports by 101/104 students.

A great week in school.
(Eddie B.)

On Monday, we went to the Fruitmarket. It was in Smithfield and we went with Ms. Doyle. Six of us went.
A lady called Rosemary came with us. She helps us get the fruit that we get in school every day.
We met a man called Liam in the Fruitmarket, and we tasted lots of fruit like strawberries, pineapples, grapes, kiwi fruit and plums. We went inside a forty-foot fridge where they keep the fruit.
We came back to the school and went into the Home Economics room and we made chicken fillet rolls for everybody's lunch.

A new week in school.
(Craig F.)

I really like the activity week. I am in Group B, and we did P.E. - we did rock-climbing in the gym.
We got a roll for lunch. I had a chicken fillet roll and we all got Yops for the lunch.
We watched a DVD at the end of the day, and the next day we did P.E. and then we went to Home Economics to make the rolls for people's lunches.
Everyone gets a turn at making the lunches and at doing P.E., and at doing Art and computers and Woodwork.

Activity Week.
(Joey R.)

I did Woodwork and Art in my activity week, and I helped Ms Loughman with the video camera.
We went into all the rooms with the camera, like the Art Room, the Home Economics Room, the Woodwork room and the classrooms.
We took lots of photos and some films.
We will try and make a DVD of our week, with pictures and films on it.

Our visit to the Museum.
(Yazzmin C.)

Yesterday, we went to the Museum with Ms Loughman. Six of us went. We had a great time.
We saw the Viking jewellery. We saw all their swords and shoes and combs and clothes.
We saw the Egyptians and there were mummies.
There were fishermen outside the Dáil protesting. We had a good time and we learnt a lot.

Fruitmarket.
(Karl K.)

On Monday we went to Smithfield to see the Fruitmarket.
We tasted a lot of fruit, like strawberries, grapes, plums, pineapples and kiwi fruit.
We went with Ms. Doyle.
We saw the man who owns the Fruitmarket and we met a woman called Rosemary.
The two of them were very nice. We had the best time ever.
When we came back, our group went to make the lunches.

My puppet.
(Dylan C.)

I made a puppet in Art. His name is Tipsey. We had to blow up a balloon, and cover it with paper and lots of paste.
We had to paint the eyes. We used egg cartons and paper for the lips. We had a good time. My hands were very sticky.
It was fun. Tomorrow we will paint their faces and make their hair from wool.
On Friday we hope to have a puppet show with all our puppets that we make.

Our week so far.
(Daniel N.)

Two days ago, we went to Smithfield for fruit. At the market we met a man called Liam. He gave us strawberries, apples, kiwis, plums, grapes and pineapples to eat.
We ordered everything we ate to be brought to the school. Then we went back to school.
On our way to school our group took a picture beside the Spire.
There were six in our group and we had a really good time.

Puppet Day.
(Matthew P.)

My group made puppets. To make them you have to blow up a balloon and put paste on the balloon and cover it with paper.
We made noses out of egg cartons and eyebrows and lips out of more paper. After lunch, we helped clean up the room, and after that we watched a DVD called "In America". To finish the puppets we will paint their faces and make their bodies.
We will make their hair from wool.

Our visit to the Museum.
(Therese C.)

It was very good. Ms Loughman brought us to see about Vikings. We saw the boats and where they lived and their clothes. There was a model of a Viking house and of a town.
There were these models of feet there and Yazzmin and I thought they were real. There were shoes too, but the model was just to hold the shoe when it was being made.
It was a nice trip to the Museum. Yazzmin and I could not stop laughing.
